We the Ambassadors, Mark Barone and Marina Dervan, have created the organization, ‘An Act of Dog,’ for the sole purpose of protecting the lives of our beloved pets; whose current fate in our animal shelters is … Death Row!

Our dream is to usher America to restore its integrity, by becoming a No-Kill-Nation. We are going to raise $20 million dollars, which will be donated in its entirety to organisations working towards a No-Kill-Nation; helping to put an end to the 5500 Dogs killed each day in shelters across the USA. We will illustrate the problem and the solution, Using the powerful and creative platform of an Art exhibition & ‘Dogumentary.‘
We are creating 5500 paintings of those individual dogs, whose loyal spirits were needlessly killed. No longer alive to be ‘mans best friend,’ because we failed to their best friend. And, Even though we have chosen to paint Dogs, our goal is that all animals in shelters; including Cats and Rabbits, will be saved.

Mark Barone, an established and successful Artist for over 30 years, will be painting 5500 12"x12" portraits of each dog that has been killed. The exhibit will be presented 10 panels high by 550 panels long at select Museums across America.

Phase 1: We invite all animal lovers to sponsor the painting of an individual dog; by contributing a small sum to the ‘Act of Dog’ fund. This will help to provide the much needed paint materials, photography supplies and website maintenance. Your support is critical, because we know that in order to accomplish this humane mission and the timely creation of the 5500 works, we have to dedicate 100% of our time and resources. Each sponsor’s name, together with the dog that was needlessly killed, will be added to the painting; uniting their spirits and the mission, so that they do not die in vain. In addition, each sponsor will have there personal/company web-link featured on our web-site.

Phase 2: Art Exhibition and sale, together with a potent ‘Dogumentary,’ to raise the much needed $20 million dollars and the awareness needed to change laws, and reflect a more responsible and compassionate America. 100% of all monies raised from each sale, will be donated to those organizations working towards a No-Kill-Nation.

Please join us in pursuit of ‘what works and what matters,’ by standing with us, to be the voices for all those dogs that have not been heard, and those that are awaiting our call.
