I am trying to find someone to help me,with my 2 dogs.
I am going through a separation and have been devastated for 2 days with grief, because where I am going to stay temporarily for 2, maybe 3 months, until I get another place, will not let me have my pets.
I have 2 very beautiful, sweet dogs that have always been together.I have Shepard mix named Britney who is 7 yrs old and I've had her since she was 8 weeks,I also have her son Casper, who is 5 years old, I would like to find someone to temporarily foster them until I can find another place, They have to stay together as they have never been separated since Casper's birth. I would pay all costs for their food and treats.
I have lost sleep over this and cried constantly because they are my "kids",
If anyone can please point me in the right direction on getting them help, I would be forever grateful.
I am running out of time. Please help.
I.
This has to be (whoever could foster them) a VERY trustworthy person.
Britney and Casper both love people and children.
Thank you

Kathy,

I can't imagine having to deal with a separation and not being able to keep companions because of the change in your life.
Have you considered other options, to find a place where you could keep them with you?

You say temporary foster, but in reality, do you have any idea what "temporary" means?

Unfortunately I have seen many beloved pets turned into shelters because the owners have had personal experience like you, have lost a job, house, have become ill or died. It's very sad.

If you don't see a time frame to get them back, you're only option may be to either rehome them permanently or find a no kill shelter who can try to rehome them.

What about your husband? Can he take them in temporarily? Any family members?

I don't know your financial situation, but I know that if I had to move, I'd take anything that would allow me to take them with me.

I'm so sorry you have to face this and I wish you Britney and Casper the best of luck!

Hi PJ,
Thanks for your response.
Unfortunately, I have moved in with my Sister-in Law, who has a Dobie who does not like any other dogs, he can be violent around them.
My Husband gave up the house and moved in with a friend.
I have placed Casper (yes I had to separate them), with a very good friend of mine who has always loved him, but couldn't take both dogs.
Casper is doing well ;)
Britney was placed with a friend also, but is having a harder time adjusting, Please know as an animal lover (nut), this was not an easy decision, as I lost many night s sleep over this .Financially, it was impossible on such SHORT notice, to be able to grab a place , just so I could keep them.
I hope I NEVER have to go thru this again.
I always said I would never move anywhere that I couldn't take them with me.But...sometimes, something happens that you can't have control over;
Once again, Thank you for your response, Take Care, and God Bless!!

My heart goes out to you. I am an animal lover (nut) like you. I have always said that I would NEVER live where I couldn't have my babies with me. I hope I never do. But you are right, never say never. We don't know what tomorrow will bring. I hope you can get a place and be back with your babies very soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

As a petsitter, I don't petsit in my home. I go to their's for scheduled visits. So Lucy, if you are taking pets into your home, then yes, you would need some type of license or permit. You may even need to look into zoning issues with your home. Al…

They are probably referring to the licence you need from Louisville Metro Animal Control. You need a license for boarding (babysitting is considered the same thing as they are in your care during that time) You do need this as the fines are steep fo…

They might be referring to a business license, which you don't need for a pet sitting business. You might want to join a petsitters group like Petsitters International (www.petsit.com). They usually have a lot of good info for getting your business…
